CITIES FORUM worked as technical coordinator of the development cooperation project proposal ADN Urbano Quito for the EU call Local Authorities: Partnerships for sustainable cities 2020. ADN Urbano Quito was a 3.4 million dollar project for the productive and social reactivation of vulnerable neighborhoods.

CITIES FORUM worked as technical coordinator of the development cooperation project proposal ADN Urbano Quito for the call Local Authorities: Partnerships for sustainable cities 2020 promoted by the European Commissions International Cooperation and Development program. ADN Urbano Quito was a project for the productive and social reactivation of vulnerable neighborhoods through new governance and sustainable integrated development with a budget of 3.4 million dollars. Objectives included: improve resilience and greening of vulnerable neighborhoods of Quito (especially those affected by COVID-19) through reinforcement of urban governance and innovation and implementation of social inclusion actions; strengthen multilevel governance mechanisms and the capacities of Quitos officials and the network of local actors based on the experience of the city of Murcia in Spain; improve processes of social inclusion and economic-productive reactivation, transition to sustainable ecological urban development. Activities planned: definition of the methodology to select neighborhoods (migrant population, gender equity, vulnerability, citizen insecurity); citizen participation and empowerment mechanisms; urban innovation programme (open innovation challenges); strategies for productive reactivation; training and technical assistance to implement urban gardens.
